Laurie Berkner is as sparkly in person as you might expect by the reputation of her music. She graced the stage with glittery silver shoes and danced her way into the hearts of fans that came to see her in person last month at Sea World’s Just for Kids festival in Orlando, FL.
Her fan base, mostly under 3 feet and 5 years, were ecstatic to join in the fun as they were encouraged to move out of their seats and into the aisles. There, they proceeded to swim like fishes, buzz like bees and stomp like dinosaurs. And they did, with delight.
Laurie Berkner’s performance was full of fun and energy, she really puts on a great show. It’s obvious that this is one of her favorite parts about being a kindie star—watching little faces light up and sing along with their favorite songs.
In fact, before the concert, she asked for requests via twitter and she made it a point to honor some of those requests. Fans, big and small alike were especially glad to hear and perform a long with “Moon, Moon, Moon.” (Didn’t make it to the concert? You can learn the hand motions for yourself at home.)
Our favorite part of the concert? The beach party when giant beach balls were thrown into the audience—wild joy followed!
Concert goers were in for an even bigger treat since they got to see Laurie’s performance as part of Sea World Orlando’s Just for Kids festival. This was the second year for the Just for Kids festival, which featured four weekends of live shows that in addition to Laurie Berkner included Imagination Movers, Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve and Kratt Brothers Live.
Sea World’s Just for Kids festival also had special events and discounts just for kids. Such as, free child admission to up close tours (when accompanied by a paying adult), an all day outdoor dance party near the concert venue and of course free admission to the concerts included with the purchase of park tickets.
Our family found this to be a great time to visit Sea World. The weather was really nice and the crowds were low. We were able to pretty much see and do everything on our wish list for the day. We saved the big Shamu show for the end of our visit, and the wow factor was just right for our last stop in the park. Our kids were happy-tired at the end of the day and that makes for happy parents.
